The Hasselblad XCD 20-35mm f/3.2-4.5 E lens provides a full frame equivalent focal length of 16-27mm, making it not only Hasselblad's first ultra wide angle XCD zoom lens, but also the widest lens for its X-system mirrorless medium format camera to date.
This lens adopts a design of 12 sets of 16 lenses, including 3 non spherical lenses and 4 ultra-low dispersion lenses.
Hasselblad stated that the lens can effectively suppress aberrations and meet the high-resolution requirements of its 100 megapixel camera. In addition, the lens promises to achieve optimal image quality throughout the entire focal length range, even when shooting at full aperture.
The lens performs quite quickly at its widest focal length, making it ideal for low light photography, including capturing the night sky. It is expected to become one of the most versatile and best lenses in the Hasselblad X system, particularly suitable for landscape and architectural photographers.
This lens adopts a stepper motor and a focusing drive mechanism to control a set of compact and lightweight focusing lenses. Hasselblad promises to provide fast and accurate autofocus performance, especially when paired with Hasselblad cameras such as X2D 100C that have phase detection autofocus function.
The new zoom lens also maintains a moderate weight, weighing only 805 grams (28.4 ounces). In addition, unlike some ultra wide angle zoom lenses, it supports front-end filter installation (77mm).
