Tea originated in China and is renowned worldwide, with rich history and profound cultural significance.
On July 26th, an exhibition featuring exquisite tea culture relics officially opened at the Hebei Museum. This exhibition is jointly organized by the Palace Museum and Hebei Museum, marking the second stop of the global tour of "Palace Museum and Tea World".
This exhibition is divided into four parts: "Palace Tea Boutique", "Qianlong and Tea", "The Origin and Evolution of Tea", and "Yan Zhao Tea Fragrance". It showcases 160 cultural relics and historical materials collected by the Forbidden City, Hebei, and China Tea Museum. These works narrate the development process of Chinese tea culture, highlighting its historical process, regional connections, ethnic integration, and global influence.
In November 2022, "Traditional Chinese Tea Processing Technology and Related Social Practices" was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This understanding highlights the cultural value of Chinese tea culture. The Palace Museum and Hebei Museum are collaborating to hold this exhibition, aiming to tell the story of China through the medium of tea.
The exhibition will be held from July 26th to October 27th, 2024.
