On Thursday afternoon, two subway trains collided in the Upper West Side of New York City, causing one train to derail and injuring multiple people.
In a post on X, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority stated, "After a train derailed near 96th Street, the emergency team assisted passengers and conducted an investigation, resulting in a significant interruption of 1/2/3 of services. Most areas of Manhattan do not have 1/2/3 of services.".
According to local media reports, around 3 pm, a commuter train collided with a work train near the 96th Street station, injuring 8 people and taking them to the hospital.
