Recently, photographers from all over the country have flocked to a reservoir in Dalian, Liaoning Province to capture the beauty of the black faced spoonbill.
There, when birds look down for food or fly gracefully, they can catch them. Against the backdrop of lush lotus leaves and distant verdant mountains, they create a natural, harmonious, and beautiful scene.
Dalian is an important breeding ground for the first-class protected black faced spoonbill in China.
Earlier this year, Dalian Zhuanghe established a black faced spoonbill habitat protection site, Guanjia Lake, on a reservoir in Zhangtun residential area of Changsheng Street.
In recent years, the local government has made efforts to provide favorable living spaces for birds by clearing the shoreline of Zhangtun Reservoir, renovating roads, building ponds that are conducive to nesting and foraging, restoring and expanding wetland areas, and planting greenery.
Tang Huadong, the head of Zhangtun Community, said, "Guanjia Lake has become a paradise for birds. In summer, it also attracts hundreds of egrets and herons. They come to the reservoir to forage during the day and fly back to the surrounding mountains to rest at night.
